Improving wheel alignment with Zivid 3D cameras

How to improve your Tesla, Ferrari, or Fiat's wheels lifetime?

It doesn't matter what kind of car you drive. If it's an every day ride or a sports car, with improperly adjusted tires, wrong air pressure, and maybe a slightly aggressive driving style, your car's tires could wear out in a few months - or even maybe weeks.

Italian company VAMAG is an expert at solving some of these potential pitfalls with their professional alignment tools. With over 40 years of expertise in the automotive market, their solutions span a variety of applications, including wheel alignment.

VAMAG's latest, contactless wheel alignment demo quickly scans the car tires before reporting back any with camber or toe angle issues. Camber describes the angle between the vertical axis of the wheels used for steering and the vertical axis of the vehicle and alters the handling qualities of your car. Toe, or tracking, on the other hand, describes the symmetric angle that each wheel makes with the longitudinal axis of the vehicle. Wrong toe alignment drastically affects tire life.

Typical wheel alignment involves mounting additional measuring tools on every wheel of the car, which is a relatively time-consuming operation. During this process, operators can also introduce measuring errors by misaligning the reference tools.

By using the Zivid One+ Medium 3D cameras, VAMAG has been able to reduce both measuring errors caused by misaligned references, as well as drastically decrease the time you'll have to wait for a proper wheel alignment check.

While the system is still under development, VAMAG is demonstrating the no-touch wheel alignment system live during Autopromotec, the international automotive equipment and aftermarket trade show held every two years in the heart of "Motor Valley".

This weekend you can check out VAMAG's contactless 3D wheel alignment demo in area 30, stand B26.
