SECMA improves bin-picking with 3D vision

SECMA selects Zivid 3D camera for precision bin-picking.

OSLO, Norway, December 17, 2019 – Zivid, the 3D machine vision camera company, has announced that its Zivid One Plus 3D color camera has become an integral part of SECMA’s state-of-the-art bin picking solution. This new SECMA/Zivid partnership brings a dramatic performance upgrade to a wide range of industrial applications.

Through a combination of software updates, detection algorithm enhancements and Zivid's 3D camera integration, SECMA has reduced 3D part capture time to under a second, while achieving consistent sub-millimetric precision. Compatible with any kind of robot, their bin-picking solution is now also able to detect small and complex parts of almost any material, irrespective of lighting conditions in the production environment.
